Argiope sp.
Perhaps a kind of a garden spider? Body size bout 2 cm.
Grass area. Fishing Trail, Mlawla nature reserve.
Identification confirmed by Ansie Dippenaar-Schoeman as Argiope sp., could be A. flavipalpis or A. levii, would need specimen to confirm which.
Hello Alan and Bayucca. Thank you both for the time and energy you both put into this spotting in order to identify it. I will change the ID into Argiope species. Sorry for the late response, but as always, I really appreciate it!
Ava, mission added :)
Yes, I agree Argiope sp. would be safer. If you want to submit it that's fine - if not then I'll do it later.
Personally I don't think this is Argiope lobata, the markings on the legs are different. There is probably no serious clue to get a proper ID on this one due to the fact, that there is not enough and probably also not correct information about other candidates like Argiope levii and Argiope flavipalpus. For me it looks like being Argiope levii, based on these links, but they are not really trusted:

Probably trustable: http://www.zmuc.dk/entoweb/collections-d...

Markings are slightly different, but the markings on the legs are matching with the ones in Tina's Argiope. I would prefer Argiope sp. as scientific name with mentioning other canididates and links in the description section.

There are lots of Argiope species. I think this one is lobata but I'm not sure.
Please consider adding this spotting to the Animal Architecture mission at http://www.projectnoah.org/missions/8082...
