Great Cormorant

Phalacrocorax carbo

Description:

For my 300th spotting here is a cormorant being followed around by the black headed gulls maybe hoping to steal its catch as it comes up, they were making a great noise and were occasionally dive bombing him but the cormorant didnt seem to be bothered and kept diving under the water and reappearing in a different part of the Marsh.

Habitat:

Seen at Potteric Carr nature reserve, owned by The Yorkshire wildlife trust.
