Habitat:

On Siesta Beach, Sarasota FL The pic one eggs have been abandoned ...either something happened to the hen or she gave up as she didn't seem to have a male to help her attend the nest. Pic 2 is an active nest

I have to think the Snowy Plover added those shell fragments because the beach is pretty much "Sugar" sand.
