Glover's Silkmoth

Hyalophora columbia gloveri

Description:

The coolest moth I've personally found. I'm also highly impressed with my iphone camera. This one was right at the corner of the door at the entrance of my office building. It's been there all morning. I don't want to move it, I just hope it's wing doesn't get clipped in the door if somone comes in.

Habitat:

nearby are some grassy hills.

Lovely! Certainly genus Hyalophora, H. cecropia is more of an eastern species and is more orange and brown rather than red in H. colombia gloveri. Please verify, as species of the genus Hyalophora are known to interbreed within species naturally.
