thanks forestdragon, i'm HORRIBLE at ID-ing spiders, so forgive me for being a pessimist :) oh, and thanks for ID. and a lovely spider you have there!

L.E. don't be so pessimistic ;-) ! Orchard Orbweavers are lovely little spiders. Their abdomens are actually silver (with the black markings and sometimes some yellow coloration). If you look carefully you can catch the reflections. It's difficult to capture it in photographs (at least for me).
