Pineapple

Ananas comosus

Description:

The first pineapple we grew from a crown after moving to Hawaii in December 2009. This thing took about 12 months to grow to the point where it flowered. Amazingly the point where the fruit/flower emerged from inside went very quickly. Only a few days after this the flowering was completely finished.

Notes:

This was the first day of flowering. A few days later I got a much better photo.
