Small Leaf Beetle

Xanthonia sp.

Description:

Very small Leaf Beetle of 4 mm in length. It has a thick layer of scales on the the elytra, giving it a spotted appearance. The tibia are thick with a single heavy spine. Family Chrysomelidae: Subfamily Eumolpinae.

Habitat:

Came to an ultraviolet light in the garden, San Cristobal de Las Casas, 2,200 meters.

I assume you mean 4mm, not 4cm?!
