caterpillar

Description:

some type of hawkmoth caterpillar found deep inside a foul smelling Amorphophallus bloom

Habitat:

savanna/forest edge

Notes:

Amorphophallus are one of my favourite flowers. I spotted a number of them flowering on Christmas day. For a Horticulturist, there couldn't be a better gift. Upon closer inspection of the flower, I spotted 2 hawkmoths feeding on the pollen deep inside the flower. Baluran national park.
