O sujeito retratado foi encontrado em uma floresta úmida localizada nas imediações de uma cidade interiorana rural. Possivelmente podem ser encontrados em outras áreas de mata.
The subject portrayed was found in a humid rainforest located in the neighborhoods of a rural backwater town. Possibly, they can also be found in other weedy habitats.
Stolas é um gênero de besouros-tartaruga pertencentes à ordem Coleoptera, subordem Polyphaga, infraordem Cucujiformia, superfamília Chrysomeloidea, família Chrysomelidae, subfamília Cassidinae e tribo Mesomphaliini. Dimorfismo sexual geralmente não é presente neste gênero, com muitas espécies sendo polimórficas tratando-se do padrão dorsal. Adultos do gênero Stolas alimentam-se de Asteraceae, Convolvulaceae e Cucurbitaceae. Há aproximadamente 180 espécies de Stolas distribuídas na zona neotropical, com muitas presentes no Brasil, onde este foi fotografado.

Stolas is a genus of tortoise beetles in the order Coleoptera, suborder Polyphaga, infraorder Cucujiformia, superfamily Chrysomeloidea, family Chrysomelidae, subfamily Cassidinae and tribe Mesomphaliini. Sexual dimorphism is usually not present in this genus, with many species being polymorphic regarding the dorsal pattern. Adults of the genus Stolas feed on Asteraceae, Convolvulaceae and Cucurbitaceae. There are approximately 180 species of Stolas distributed in the neotropical zone, with many being present in Brazil, where this one was photographed.
