Tiger Moth

Halysidota sp.

Description:

Medium sized pale moth with wavy bands of lighter and darker color on wings. Bright orange stripes lined with turquoise in center of thorax area. Either H. harrisii or H. tessellaris. Apparently, in this area of the country, they can only be distinguished by genitalia dissection (according to Bugguide).

Habitat:

Cedar Point County Park. Resting on a building.
