Cupha erymanthis
My 300th Spotting!!
Nuwan and Bayucca thanks for the id!!
@ Bayucca Thanks for all your HARDWORK.checked the links you provided.they were very informative . Thanks again
Hahaaa..! it should be called Decorated potato (although Christmas also suits it). Just joking! is an excellent spotting! :-)
In this case we probably should call this Christmas Potato (Pomfrittas noelensis)... ;-)...
@Nuwan: Do you have an explanation for the different ground color? Usually it is green, not "apricot".
Nymphalidae, Heliconiinae, for sure, Vagrantini almost for sure. I think it might be the Rustic, Cupha erymanthis, there are several subspecies found in whole India, I am not sure which one is found in your area. I have checked hundreds of pupa pictures and did not find any other similar one. Some markings and the ground color are not 100% matching, but almost ;-)...
Please, verify and we have probably need earlystages/Keith vor confirmation or correction...

What you guys think of Rustic??
It looks like a really poisonous sprouting potato! Congratulation on reaching 300! The potato was a good choice!
Haha, great comment Chief! I could not agree more :D And a great spotting Subin Sudhakaran, I am happy to have seen this :D Great choice for 300!
Amazing! Amazing! Looks like something fallen from our old valve radio.
