Sesiidae
It was very small but the design on the wings was very attractive, I did not know it was so colorful until I saw the pictures!
Bayucca!! How lucky!! Did you take pictures? Congratulations.
Gilma, I dreamed of your moth and that was one of my dreams to spot one of these once. Guess what? I spotted one yesterday in the morning in France!! So cool!!
Thank you, Adarsha, when they are small like this one, you are just not sure what it is until you take a few pictures and checked them... : )
Thank you so much bayucca, I will edit but I do not know how to get to a closer ID, perhaps a member of PN would be so kind to help?!
Although we should not add the family name as scientific name, in this case, since there might be little chance to get closer, I suggest that you take Sesiidae (no sp. added!) and as common name Clearwing Moth is a valuable compromise. I certainly will try to get a little bit closer ...
No ID?... What do I write when I edit it?... Clear Wing Moth then.... Synanthedon or Sesiidae or both or none? bayucca!?
Definitely a Sesiidae, cannot help you more, there is almost no info about this family. Common genus is Synanthedon, which might be a candidate, but that's only a shy guess. There will probably no ID for this one...
