Mexican Poodle Moth

Description:

A furry adorable white moth with a black face and orange antennae, about 1.5 cm in length. It also has a thin black line along the outer edge of the upper wings. The hair on the thorax is long and sticks up almost half a centimeter. If this is a species of the genus Artace, than it belongs to the Family Lasiocampidae.

Habitat:

Garden lights, semi-rural residential area, San Cristobal de Las Casas, Chiapas, Mexico, 2,200 meters.
