Apple Snails

Pomacea canaliculata

Description:

Large snails, some were probably 3" in diameter. Piled up along the shore of a Florida marshland area.

Habitat:

Circle B Bar Reserve, Lakeland, FL

Notes:

It took me a little while, but I realized that these photos go together from this day. The pink balls that I assumed was a slime mold growing on a log is actually the eggs of the Apple Snails that were everywhere around the shore.

Added the proper ID and a photo of the eggs that I just realized went with this spotting.
