Eastern Wood-pewee

Contopus virens

Description:

I thought this was Contopus cooperi, however, I heard a Phoebe's call very close, and it very well may have been this individual, but Phoebe's never are this dark, correct? I was not able to get another photo before the bird flew away. The thing that I remembered most was how dark it was. Thanks to Fyn for pointing out this was more likely Contopus virens, which has the longer tail exhibited in this spotting.

Habitat:

Deciduous/coniferous forest near pond.

Notes:

Lifer, perhaps. ;-)

Thanks, Fyn! That seems more likely—I'll confirm it with someone else, though.

I think Eastern Wood-Pewee is more likely; the long tail (Olive-sided is short for the bird's large size) and small bill. But I would confirm it with someone else.
