Arrow Head Spider

Description:

With it's legs bunched up close to the body, this spider looks just like a bird dropping. The abdomen is triangular with lateral lumps and a large white triangular marking on the dorsal side. About 1 cm long. Family Araneidae.

Habitat:

Forest and secondary growth under the San Cristobal Bridge on the Highway between San Cristobal de Las Casas and Tuxtla Gutierrez, km 25, 1,500 meters.
