Marpissa formosa
Canal/woodland habitat
I've been exploring this canal for over 30 years, so I get quite excited when I find something new. I was really excited to find yet another jumping spider species, that I though had captured prey. Upon examining more closely, it appeared to have another jumping spider. It wasn't long before I figured out it could be the female and that they were trying to mate. Two new spottings in one! It appeared either the male was confused, or he was just trying to reposition himself. Eventually they separated and I will post two other spottings showing the individuals.

Yes, KeMiCo, I definitely disturbed them:( Hopefully the went back to what they were doing once I was gone:) Thanks for the comment.
I also think it's the male(black) and female(brown), maybe they weren't to comfortable by your presence spying on them ;)
great spotting indeed.
