Cacyreus lingeus
The Common Bush Blue or Bush Bronze (Cacyreus lingeus) is a butterfly of the Lycaenidae family. It is found in Africa, south of the Sahara. The wingspan is 22-27 mm for males and 22-28 mm for females. Adults are on wing year round, with a peak from October to February. In exceptional situations adults may be on wing in winter months in cooler areas.
Spotted on the leaf edge of a rose plant. Often seen browsing low flowering plants for nectar.
It was in very relaxed mood when found. Ordinarily, it is a restless butterfly and haphazard in flight. It is a tiny one.
It looks like C. lingeus, audeoudi and virilis are present in your area, but I'm unable to distinguish them. I hope someone else can help further!
