Leggy fly

Description:

An unappealing fly about 14mm long in grey and black with strong banding on the abdomen, red eyes with white surrounds, some coarse hairs on the abdomen and the thorax; wings clear but with some chromatic reflections.

Habitat:

Apparently asleep on the wall at the local school under strong night lights.

Notes:

Similar to this one http://www.flickr.com/photos/69610519@N0...
looks like it should be guarding the dustbins.
