Description:

Large broad-winged harrier: sexes dissimilar; Male overall dark reddish-brown; silvery-grey wings and tail; iris, cere, legs and feet are yellow; black beak. Female and juvenile uniformly chocolate brown; throat, crown and shoulders have white or yellowish wash; lacks grey tail and wing patch. Photo taken at Keoladeo National Park, Rajasthan, India

Marshes, Jheels (ponds) and wet cultivation areas

Winter visitor; South of Himalayas and Norther plains of India
