Eupatorium fistulosum
Joe-Pye Weed. This plant is native to Eastern North America and has non-dissected foliage and pigmented purple flowers. Interesting fact: Joe Pye (Jopi in the native tongue) was an indian healer from New England. He used this plant for a variety of ailments, hence the name "Joe-Pye".
These pretty joe-pye weed wildflowers were spotted in a wildflower garden at our county park in Millersville, Maryland.
