Moth

Meganola sp.

Description:

White and strawberry pink with a touch of black. Looks fuzzy.

Habitat:

Campus of the Neora Valley Jungle Camp.Hilly. Forested. Himalayan foothills. Remote. Moth paradise. Wild and forested area; the porch lights draw the moths in.

Notes:

NMW 2016 I posted this on the FB group site Mothing and Moth Watchers. Roger Kendrick made this comment. It is a member of the Nolidae, indeed the nominate subfamily (Nolinae) and tribe (Nolini). Placed in the genus Meganola, but species placement is not so straightforward; is either M. nitida or M. subnitida, probably the former, as subnitida was described from Indo-China and the Malay peninsula.
