A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
Chen caerulescens
An adult would be either pure white with black wingtips (white morph) or (blue morph) which is mostly bluish-grey with sometimes a white head and some white borders on the feathers.
This one is a white morph juvenile, so it doesn't have it all the white color yet and looks more like a light brown and a brown bill with a little pink showing. Snow Geese have a shorter neck then most geese.
They breed in the far northern continents. But winter in lower in North America and parts of Mexico.
The habitat for this bird was a lawn at public park
Usually found wintering in Central Califonia, this one is just hanging out or resting to continue to it's destination. It was alone in a flock of Canada and Greater White-fronted geese.
