Acacia Leaf Beetle

Peltoschema hamadryas

Description:

A very small glossy olive green beetle (5 mm) with distinct black markings on elytra and head. The pronotum had a small medial black marking along the posterior margin.

Habitat:

Spotted on a eucalyptus tree trunk but I think this little beetle was lost !

Notes:

Looks very much like an Acacia Leaf Beelte like in martinl's spotting http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/210...

These seem to be very variable, sometimes having more or less green, as in the fireblight beetle Peltoschema orphana. They do belong on Acacia.
