'Silver Mound' Wormwood

Artemisia schmidtiana 'Silver Mound'

Description:

I called this plant the "fuzzy plant" because it looked fuzzy and soft. It is a perennial and despite its name, doesn't seem to have any wood.

Notes:

Thanks for the ID help/correction. Great comment!

This annual plant is the source of a promising drug to treat malaria and was used in China for that and other medicinal purposes. Its woodier cousin, Artemesia absinthium, was used to treat intestinal worms, hence its name; it is also used to make the drink Absinthe, and is the source of the name Vermouth. That wormwood is notoriously bitter, hence the name "sweet" for this one.
