Dyspteris abortivaria
2" across
temperate forest
I went 2km down the road I live on to a semi wild area along the Chippawa creek looking for nocturnal creatures. There were plenty of small white moths buzzing around but this one was the most interesting and easy to photograph.
Sergio, Dyspteris abortivaria has a common name "The Bad-wing" because its hindwings are very hard to be positioned in pinned specimens by entomologists.
