Agaricus augustus
Common and popular edible mushroom along the Pacific Coast, from BC to Northern California. It is distinguished by its large size, the warm brown colour of the scales on its cap, shaggy surface of the stipe below the double ring and the growth of the stipe deeply inbedded in the soil. Perfectly fits this spotting!
