Description:

A dark wading bird with a long, down-curved bill.

Habitat:

The most widespread ibis species, breeding in scattered sites in warm regions of Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia, and the Atlantic and Caribbean region of the Americas. Feeds in grassland and shallow water in swamps and lakes. Spotted on the campus of Pacific Adventist University, Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea.
