Shaggy Mane Mushroom
Coprinus comatus
Notes:
Found right beside our driveway today! Amazing. Called one of the foolproof four edible mushrooms, but so far I am just enjoying looking at them!

I have added photos 5 & 6 to show the various stages of decomposition (liquification!) of the dying Shaggy Manes. It is good to have some specimens close by to watch on a daily basis!
Thanks, Alex! For today I am going to just admire them and watch them change and see how many more new ones come up. There are 6 there right now. Food for the future??
you will have to prepare them very quick after collecting, because the gills start to liquefy after few hours. and take them young (when there are more specimen to let some spores behind) as long as they havent the dark coloration at the edges. yummy cooked in the pan as mushroom-mix
