Neotropic Cormorant

Phalacrocorax olivaceus

Description:

It is a medium-sized cormorant found throughout the American tropics and subtropics. They feed on small fish, frogs, tadpoles, crustaceans and aquatic insects. Unlike other cormorants, this bird can often be seen perching on wires.

Habitat:

Found in a wide variety of aquatic habitats: marshy ponds, coastal waters, inland fresh water and brackish water.
