Gray Wall Jumper

Menemerus bivittatus

Description:

This is a very small Jumping Spider. I think it is an immature Menemerus bivittatus. In Wikipedia's article on M. bivittatus, there are pictures of both male and female specimens. This spider looks nothing like the male, but looks slightly similar to the female. Wiki does not show a photo of a juvenile M. bivittatus, but states the following - "Immature spiders resemble the female".

Habitat:

I spotted this spider in our backyard on a Philippine Lime Tree (Citrus x microcarpa). This tree has a number of different names, in the Philippines. In our locality, it is called Kalamansi. Plant information from http://www.stuartxchange.org/Kalamansi.h...

Notes:

The spider seems to have a small, unidentified insect in its grasp.
