Euplocia membliaria
This colourful moth (Noctuidae: Aganainae) had a wingspan of 4.5 cm (1.8 inches).
Hills overlooking Manila.
The 3rd and 4th photos show a turquoise colour on some of the legs. Is this the effect of the flash?
Viv and aRGyBee - thanks for your comments !
... This is one of the moths that have helped me become a bit (!) of a moth-fan :-)
Thanks ShaumingLo! ... It's the Philippines - that has a VERY IMPRESSIVE collection of moths! :-)
p.s. Just posted another spotting of this beautiful species of moth...
Thanks! From above as well as from underneath - this is one cool, colourful moth! :-)
Yes, thanks again IgCostaNut! :-)
ID updated... I think(!) we've got it now.
Hmmm... Just seen photos that make me wonder if this is Euplocia membliaria (Noctuidae: Aganainae)... See:

In which case I may need to change another spotting:

Thanks for your comments Karen and IgCostaNut!
And thanks so much for the ID suggestion IgCostaNut! I think it's indeed a Snouted Tiger Moth. Now I just want to double-check genus & species...
