Ridged Swimming Crab

Description:

Also known as Portunid Crab and Harlequin Anemone Crab. They feed on plankton, and grow to about 3cm in length.

Habitat:

Found on sand and mud areas of coral and rocky reefs, at depths of 5 to 25m. Widespread in the Indo-West Pacific region.

Notes:

I took these photos on an early evening dive, off Isla Reta Beach Resort on Talikud Island, Samal, Philippines.
