Stick Insect, Phasmid - Nymph

Ophicrania viridinervis

Description:

This is a Nymph of Phasmid of the specie Ophicrania viridinervis. First time for me to see a Phasmid of Turquoise in color with Burgundy colored legs. Fascinating! Probably a few days old, small, less than 1.5 cm in length but body is very scrawny/thin. Body is light-colored and translucent when lights were shined on it. Pic#5 was taken after it has eaten and you can see the food eaten in its thorax!

Habitat:

Tropical rain forest Feeds on Bamboo leafs.

Notes:

Pictures of Adults can be seen in this spotting : http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/331...
