Passerina caerulea
The male is easily recognized with a deep blue head and body. The wings and tail are black with 2 brown wing bars. The bill is grey above and the lower mandible is silver.
Spotted next to a wetland perched on wetland vegetation foraging for insects.

Thank you Sukanya. They are very eye-catching. I'm hoping to spot a Rose-breasted grosbeak someday.
That's a handsome bird...and from its stance I think it knows it!
