Setaria faberi
Giant Foxtail. Also known as Chinese foxtail, chinese millet, giant bristlegrass or nodding foxtail. Giant foxtail is a summer annual grass with a shallow, fibrous root system. Reproduces only by seeds. Germination ocurs in late spring to early summer because the seeds require warm temperatures to sprout. Leaf sheaths and stems are smooth and slightly flattened.
There was lots of Giant foxtails in the fields at Kinder Farm Park in Millersville, Maryland.
