Tibellus sp
A slender spider with a body of about 10 mm and an outstretched leg span of 35 mm. The legs were stretched straight fore and aft. A white streak ran through the length of the body. There were two elongated and clearly visible palps.

Thanks CXW !. I think T.tenellus fits the description most. It explains the broad pale streak on the back of abdomen and cephalothorax. How ever did you zero in on this?? the bug guide is so extensive, it takes hours to go through all the specimens. I will find a quicker way one day, I hope.
Nice spotting by the way, this type of spider is not common in my area.
Thanks CXW - I think you are right. I was a little puzzled that my ID did not quite fit the "tetragnathus" status of the spider.
I agree that it is the Tibellus genus but I am confused about the species - ?oblongus /? duttoni/ ? tenellus. Will research more ... but for now I am changing ID as per your suggestion. Thanks again.
Looks more like a Tibellus spider, Slender Crab Spider.
