Rough Green Snake

Opheodrys aestivus

Description:

Small, arboreal snake. Feeds on insects.

Habitat:

Most commonly found in bushes and trees 3 feet above ground and higher. Very rarely seen crossing the ground.

Notes:

Bright green color allows this snake to mimic the slender branch of a bush or a tree. Very difficult to spot if it is not moving!
