Imperial Moth Caterpillar

Description:

This caterpillar was approximately 3" long.

Habitat:

Pupation takes place in underground burrows.

Notes:

I found this caterpillar when I spotted a turtle that was digging in my yard. The caterpillar was digging it's way from under some dirt.

I had a typo in saying it was 3' long instead of 3"...sorry! If I saw something like this that was 3' long, I would have thought a Graboid had got loose from the movie-set Tremors!! Thank you, everyone, for helping me with this!

im working on IDing it for you, i know that it will much your veggies until they ate gone and it will be a moth, also it burrows into the dirt for the winter, now to get the exact species name for you :)
