Wagtail (Western yellow?)

Motacilla flava

Description:

Grey, black and yellow. The front seems to be white colour shading into yellow. Cannot be sure I did not get any other angle.

Habitat:

Cardamom estate in Munnar, Kerala. This clump of plants was a favoured sites for many birds. Unfortunately dawn and twilight times also meant low light.

Notes:

Yellow wagtail has been split into 2 species: Western yellow wagtail, Motacilla flava Eastern yellow wagtail, Motacilla tschutschensis The specific name flava is Latin for golden-yellow.
