Description:

Also known as Mayer's Coral and Boulder Coral, this species is found on shallow and calm upper reef slopes and lagoons. A brown, dome-shaped hard coral with recessed corallite cells. Its colonies are massive and rounded or hillocky. Not very common but distinctive. They feed on plankton.

Habitat:

Widespread in the Indo-Pacific region, at depths of 0 to 40m.
