Ligia occidentalis

Description:

A high-intertidal isopod, just under 2 inches long. Very quick and very numerous along the shoreline.

Habitat:

Along rocky shore of the intertidal, just above the tide line.

Notes:

These spend most of the day out of the water, only returning for safety or to wet their gills.
