Pimelea flava ssp. flava
Small yellow flowers with 4 petals. Male flowers had two thick anthers. flowers seen in clusters on this slender erect shrub about 2 m tall. Leaves were small and ovate and crowded on stems.
Spotted in sclerophyll forests with eucalypts and other natives.
Butterfly attracting.
We were informed that the bark of this plant was sometimes stripped and used as bootlace ! The bark obviously strips in one long piece and is tough, perhaps ??
Family: Thymelaeaceae
This family ( trees and shrubs mostly) is said to be more diverse in the Southern Hemisphere, with most genera in Africa and then, Australia.
