Thanks again Sarota!

You are welcome. Colobura d. dirce has a much thicker vertical black band from marginal area. The band gets more than a few times thicker toward tornus. It looks like a long-necked beer bottle. By the way, I learned how to tell them apart from the book I have (A Swift Guide to the butterflies of Mexico and Central America).

Wow these two are very similar indeed. Thanks Sarota!

I think that this butterfly is Colobura annulata, which is very similar to Colobura d. dirce. Colobura d. dirce has much thicker black band from marginal area to tornus on the underside of FW. Please check both links.

Lovely butterfly - I've only seen them in captivity.
