Great Horned Owl

Bubo virginianus

I have been watching this GHO nest for a few weeks now and this is the first time I had a camera pointed when one of the parents flew by. It was so exciting to catch it and in daylight! The mother pictured here (larger than the male) was being annoyed by a group of Vultures flying above her perch. Both parents were nearby their 3 offspring to watch over them.
