A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
I think you are right. There are 10 species of squirrels in Wisconsin and in looking into it further, it looks to be a Little red squirrel. They don't get much bigger than the one in my photo. He is slightly bigger than a chipmunk and no stripes. I have a bunch of these guys. They are probably from the same litter.
Absolutely beautiful. Great shot.
Thank You harsuame!!!
I was wrong, it is a Newport Purple Leaf Plum.
I don't think so. I have to find the tree tag.
Thanks Nick, it is a Ruby Throated Hummingbird. I forget to put that in because it is the only hummingbird that we get here in Onalaska....at leat the only one's I ever see.
I have NEVER seen anything like this. I wouldn't have known what it was. It is kind of creepy yet beautiful!
I love these birds. They are soft and graceful. The call of the dove is one of the most beautiful sounds. I could listen to them for hours.
I have a ton of these that come every winter to Onalaska, Wi. The ones that I get are really dark on the back and head, light on the belly and the beaks are almost a yellow orange. I haven't been able to get any good photos of them.
Gotcha. I am from the Midwest, so I won't post it. Thanks
