Crested Lark

Galerida cristata

Description:

Very pale buff between the breast spots which to me ruled out Skylark which has a warmer buff.
The longish slightly down-curved bill suggests a North African Crested.
Later in the day I saw what I think may have been the same bird in the same place and it did turn and face me for one photo, so I will post as another spotting. There were others of the species about but most stayed further away, I suspect this one was protecting a nest below the walkway.

Habitat:

Dunes on nature reserve by coast.
