Spotting

Description:

A dark brown (almost black) capped mushroom about 25mm wide. Centre of cap slightly depressed. It was moist and rubbery to touch. Cream coloured gills were spaced and decurrent. Stipe was short, plain and the same colour as the gills.

Habitat:

Spotted on a moss covered very damp dead tree stump - Tall eucalyptus forest.

Notes:

An attractive solitary mushroom. Assistance with an ID will be greatly appreciated.
