I have shot this butterfly a couple times before. i have never seen it in open light before. This was spotted in a cow pasture at ground level.

Thank you Karen! I have adjusted the spotting name. I should have known! Wow, with over 35,000 known species in the family it seems quite daunting to identify this one!
