Green Scarab

Diphucephala sp.

Description:

An 8 mm scarab heavily cloaked in short setae. Head, thorax and elytra were a metallic green with tinges of red. Antennae had leaflets at the tip as with all chafers.

Habitat:

Spotted flying amongst a hedge with various native and exotic plants, in a reserve.

Notes:

These chafers can decimate trees if in large numbers.
